Greetings Student Affairs, Please join us for CUNY Pridefest and share with your students, colleagues, families and friends! 4th Annual CUNY Pridefest at Queens College Friday, 6/25 4pm - 6pm EVENT DESCRIPTION: Faculty, staff and students from CUNY's (11) senior colleges, (7) community colleges and (7) honors and professional schools will celebrate their virtual pride this year with a celebration that includes exciting drag performances to entertain us, talented musical acts to keep the energy alive and more. Our DJ will be pumping, PRIDE dancers will be featured, and the festival-goers can capture their favorite moments with our virtual photo booth. This event will be livestreamed on YouTube. This event is open to the public, and registration is required: https://tinyurl.com/CUNYpride21 This event is made possible through the generous support of the New York City Council through the offices of Daniel Dromm (District 25) and Speaker Corey Johnson, and LaGuardia Community College/CUNY. As such, we are asking for your help to identify students who would most benefit from participation, and also those who exemplify our Queens College motto, “We learn so that we may serve.” The internship stipend is sponsored by Queens College alumnus Harris Horowitz. Good afternoon SA colleagues, On Friday, April 30th, we are having our mobile food distribution program. We are asking if anyone would like to volunteer loading the van on Friday morning in the student union. We are a bit short staffed and can use the help. If you also want to join us, you are welcome to go with us to the site to distribute bags of food. The van will be arriving at the loading dock at the student union at 11 a.m., we need to be at the site by 12 noon in Jamaica. Any help would be appreciated. Please let me know. CUNY Recovery Corps is a special Summer Youth Employment Program just for CUNY. Help NYC recover AND earn over $2000 this summer. Our city's public health organizations, community-based non-profits, government agencies, and schools are counting on you. CUNY Recovery Corps students must be 18-24 years old, live in one of the five boroughs of New York City, be legally allowed to work in the US, and be a CUNY student during the spring 2021 semester and/or in fall 2021. CLIP, CUNY Start and Math Start students are eligible too! To All Student Affairs Directors, The Queens College Knights Food Pantry will be hosting one of its mobile food distributions on Friday, April 9th in downtown Flushing, 136-17 39th Avenue (by Queens Crossing) from 12 noon to 12 p.m. We are asking volunteers to either help load bags of food onto the van at the student union loading dock at 11 a.m. or assist distributing bags at the location at noon. Since the van only seats one or two persons, anyone wanting to help at the Flushing location will have to meet us at that location.
