The Department of Nutrition, Dietetics and Exercise Science is housed within the School of Health Professions at Concordia College. Having matriculated its first cohort of eight students in August 2017, the DI/MS is a thriving program looking to expand. > > The Concordia College Department of Nutrition, Dietetics and Exercise Science houses two ACEND-accredited dietetic programs – a didactic program in dietetics and a combined dietetic internship graduate program. The didactic program in dietetics (DPD) began in 1975 and boasts an exceptional placement rate (nearly 100%) of students in dietetic internships each year. The dietetic internship began in 1999 and was successfully transitioned to a combined Dietetic Internship and Master of Science (DI/MS) with the first cohort of eight starting in August 2017. The DI/MS currently holds 100% first-year pass rate on the CDR credentialing exam for dietitian nutritionists and 100% employment rate within 12 months following graduation. > > This full-time position includes teaching or co-teaching predominantly clinical nutrition courses in both the DPD and DI/MS. Such courses include lifecycle nutrition and medical nutrition therapy, which emphasize the Nutrition Care Process, as well as other courses in dietetics. As a faculty member, the successful candidate has the opportunity to advise and mentor undergraduate and graduate students, participate in scholarship, and engage in service to the department, college and community. > > In addition, the successful candidate will serve as Coordinator of the DI/MS. The Coordinator will work closely with the DI/MS Director and be highly involved in recruitment of strong students eager to join Concordia’s DI/MS, stewarding relationships with supervised practice facility administrators and preceptors, scheduling and coordination of supervised practice rotations, collecting outcomes data required for accreditation, and evaluation of interns and supervised practice facilities. The Coordinator will play a vital role in the success of DI/MS students’ graduate school and supervised practice experiences and contribute to the welcoming and positive learning environment for which Concordia is known. Dear QC Dietetic members, We have very important announcement for our Dietetic Internship mentoring program. For students who are applying for SPRING MATCH 2021, you are eligible to participate in the dietetic internship mentoring program. To be a mentee of the program, you need to do the following: 1. Read and comply with the attach DPD Mentoring Guidebook 2. Fill out the google form below. Please complete EVERYTHING with your information including the area of interest/concentration. On Sunday, November 8th @ 10am, Professor Westfal and Professor Charny will hold a Dietetic Meeting. * After the meeting, the Mentor and Mentee will have the chance to meet up with one another. They will be paired based on area of interest/concentration, and you will know who your intern match is before this date. * A general Q & A session with mentors and interns will also be held during this time.
