[History undergraduates] Pre-registration for 392W courses: Spring 2019

Dear History Majors, Departmental pre-registration for colloquium (392W) courses for the Spring 2019 semester will begin on Monday, October 29, and run through Thursday, November 1st. You must be a history major, and a junior or senior, to register. All students are required to take a 392W in order to graduate with the major. If you wish to register for these courses, you must do so through the History Department (it is best to come to the department in person but you can also call: 718-997-5350). Dear History Students, I know that many of you are saddened and shocked by the unexpected death of Professor Sen. Counseling Services on the 1st floor of Frese Hall is available for any students who would like to discuss their feelings and reactions to this sad news. I know that many of you have questions about what happened. We ask that you understand his family has asked for privacy at this time. We have placed a book in the main History Department Office and ask that any students who wish to share memories of him with his family come and write a message or type something up that we can add to the book. It will be in the office for several weeks. Furthermore, the History Department will be planning a memorial event and I will be in touch with you once those details become available. Dear History Students, Please see below and the attached for scholarship opportunities for the Asian/American Center. The Asian/American Center (A/AC) of Queens College is pleased to announce its 2019 Scholarship opportunities for Queens College students. Attached you will find our scholarship brochure, which lists all the information students need to apply. The Asian/American Center currently awards two types of scholarships, the Student Scholarship and our new Student Leadership Award. The latter was initiated in the 2017-2018 academic year. Since its conception, A/AC has received numerous applications for this award. Past award recipients are also welcome to reapply. The scholarships will range from $2,000 - $4,000 each and are awarded on the basis of financial need, academic achievement, and/or leadership activities. The deadline is March 1, 2019.'
