[Socrates] Call For Participation in a Faculty Book Club, Fall 2019

The Faculty Book Club is an informal reading group for Queens College faculty members who are interested in reading about, thinking about, and discussing learning and teaching with colleagues across disciplines. 

Guided by facilitators from the Center for Teaching and Learning, book club members will read and discuss the book, "How Humans Learn: The Science and Stories Behind Effective College Teaching" by Joshua R. Eyler, which focuses on five themes: curiosity, sociality, emotion, authenticity, and failure.

Meetings are scheduled for Wednesdays from 12:00 – 2:00 on the following dates:
• September 18th
• October 2nd
• October 16th
• November 6th
• November 13th
• December 4th

The Center for Teaching and Learning will provide book club members with lunch and a copy of "How Humans Learn."
