The Institute includes daily workshops and co-working sessions on a variety of topics. Individuals can pick and choose which events they're interested in attending. CISTraining Microsoft training

Good afternoon everyone, Happy new year! As you may know, Queens College is making the move to Microsoft Office 365 this year. In anticipation of this change, we invite you to look into this training offered by CISTraining. The training consists of two sessions of Blended Learning with Teams, Forms, and Class Notebook, the first being held on January 13th from 10am-11am, and the second being held on January 26th from 2pm-3pm. The workshop will be utilizing Microsoft 365 to enhance four models of blended learning: Rotation, Flex, A La Carte, and Enriched Virtual. These sessions will look at these models themselves in depth and show examples of how Microsoft programs such as Teams, OneNote Class Notebook, Forms, Sway and Flipgrid enhance and support these models. It is the college’s goal to support all faculty teaching remotely, and their hope that those faculty will utilize the Microsoft 265 package to teach their course(s) this semester. Self-paced Best Practices for Teaching Online at Queens College, January 4 to 31, 2021

From the Center for Teaching & Learning: The Center for Teaching & Learning at Queens College is offering a five-session asynchronous Best Practices for Teaching Online workshop from January 4 to 31, 2021. Faculty participants in this workshop will be able to: offer a student-centered learning experience in an online learning environment, support students in achieving essential learning objectives creatively and flexibly, re-imagine face-to-face pedagogies and projects in an online environment, demonstrate competency in choosing and using digital tools for teaching remotely, design effective online learning activities that engage students in the learning process, and support the achievement of intended student learning outcomes. Faculty can choose to take the workshop in Blackboard or Google Classroom. Two certifications are being offered: • Full Teaching Online Certification is offered both on the Blackboard and Google Classroom options. Faculty who successfully complete the Full Teaching Online training will receive a certificate of completion and compensation of $500 for their participation. • Emergency Teaching Online Certification is only offered on Blackboard. Faculty who successfully complete the Emergency Teaching Online training will receive a certificate of completion and compensation of $150 for their participation. On behalf of the Queens College Office of Institutional Effectiveness: ANNY's 9th Annual Conference "Assessment Refocused" Virtual Conference APRIL 19-20, 2021 **Call for Proposals** **All proposals are due by January 8, 2021.** The Assessment Network of New York (ANNY) is pleased to invite proposals for our virtual annual assessment conference. The theme for the 2021 annual conference is “assessment refocused.” With all that has happened this past year, there is a need to reflect on and refocus assessment. We welcome presentations that look at assessment through a new lens, focusing on the needs of students, supporting strong pedagogy, promoting equity, and planning for the future. This year’s call for proposals includes opportunities for participating in panel discussions, moderating roundtables, and poster sessions in addition to general presentation sessions.
