Greetings, CETLL will not hold Drop-in Hours on Tuesday, June 16 or Wednesday, June 17 due to the Pedagogies of Place workshop. We will resume Drop-in Hours on Tuesday, June 23. Dear Faculty Hunter College is offering a three-day event focused on building or refreshing modules in your in-person, hybrid, or online courses. Although the event will cover some external learning tools in Brightspace which aren’t available at Queens College, it will still be a good opportunity to learn practical skills. Description: Tues 6/16, Wed 6/17, Thurs 6/18: 10 am–noon and 2 pm-4 pm each day Module Making Camp<https://urldefense.com/v3/__https://www.hunter.cuny.edu/center-for-digital-… > is a three-day event focused on building or refreshing modules in your in-person, hybrid, or online courses. We will work intensively to support you as you design one learning module for a course that you will be teaching. We will focus on Brightspace and the tools integrated into it (Top Hat, VoiceThread, Hypothesis) to foster student engagement. You will learn practical skills to make your syllabus, slides, and videos accessible. We ask that you set aside the time to attend all sessions, complete the creation of an online module, and present the completed module to your colleagues. A learning module is a collection of subject-related teaching materials that is carefully sequenced and chunked. In addition to course content, modules contain learning outcomes, directions for use, learning activities, and assessments to ascertain whether students have understood the material covered in the module. They are the building blocks of hybrid and online courses, but also useful to replace sessions of in-person courses when weather, conferences, or health issues require alternatives. Instructors design these learning experiences and students complete them within a specified period of time, usually a week.
