Conceived as part of a broader initiative to build a Knowledge Community on Children in India (KCCI), UNICEF India partners with research and academic institutions to encourage young students and scholars from around the world to engage in development issues pertaining to India's children and women. The internship offers an opportunity to explore issues related to child rights in India across a variety of areas such as child protection, health, nutrition, education, and water and sanitation. The assignment involves a combination of desk and field work at the district or village level, with interns being grouped into teams that are based in field offices and work under the supervision of selected research institutions/non-governmental organisations. Eligibility Applicants should be enrolled in a Masters-level graduate programme or a higher degree program, in one of the disciplines including but not limited to: anthropology, child psychology, demography, economics, education, engineering, human rights, international development, journalism, legal studies, public health, public administration, rural development, sociology, statistics and social work. Those who have completed their Masters level graduate programmes in 2012 are also eligible to apply. Applicants are expected to work in multi-cultural environment and establish harmonious and effective working relationships with individuals from different backgrounds. Applicants should have excellent command of English, both written and spoken. Short-listed applicants whose English is not the first language may be subject to a telephone interview. Application deadline is 17 February 2013. Qwriting Maintenance Downtime

Dear Colleagues and Qwriting Users, On Tuesday, January 15th, 2013, we will be bringing the Qwriting server down for a maintenance and upgrade session that will take approximately 48 hours to complete (Thursday, January 17, 2013). *So, you will not be able to access Qwriting from Tuesday morning to Thursday morning*. We are very sorry for any inconvenience this might cause. The key changes that we will implement are: 1. Migrating all the Qwriting blogs to a new server hosted at Queens College and 2. Switching the site address from *qwriting.org to *qwriting.qc.cuny.edu. To clarify, from Thursday morning on, if your blog URL looked like " mysitename.qwriting.org" it will now look like " mysitename.qwriting.qc.cuny.edu". All of your posts, pages and themes should remain the same. Further, anyone who tries to get to your site at mysitename.qwriting.org will be redirected to mysitename.qwriting.qc.cuny.edu without having to do anything. This means that if you posted your site URL in an email or on a website, etc., you *will not *need to change it immediately. That can be done at your leisure.
