[MAEnglish] Graduation ceremony on May 26
Dear Graduating Students, The English Department's Commencement Ceremony <https://www.facebook.com/events/240613366415326/> will take place on *Friday, May 26*, in the Goldstein Theatre, around 11:30am (or about 30 minutes after the campus-wide Commencement Ceremony <http://www.qc.cuny.edu/registrar/graduation/commencement/Pages/default.aspx>). MA students who already graduated in Fall 2016 or won't be officially graduating till Summer 2017 are welcome to participate in the ceremony, since it only happens once a year. For the department ceremony, no RSVP or tickets are required. I recommend you and your loved ones get there by at least 11 to grab seats (and even earlier if you need to look for parking). Graduates will sit on the stage, and you'll be given instructions on where to sit, when to line up to get your name called, etc. Cap and gown are optional. The ceremony usually lasts about an hour, and there's a small reception with cake afterward. You do not have to participate in the campus-wide ceremony to come to the department ceremony. However, if you do plan on going to the campus ceremony, you must RSVP at http://www.qc.cuny.edu/registrar/graduation/commencement/Pages/commencement_... . I'm so sad to be missing the ceremony this year, because I'll be in Boston for a conference. But I'll be with you in spirit, sending my congratulations and best wishes. And Bill will be there to hand you your certificates and celebrate you, along with the rest of our faculty. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to email. Best, Caroline -- Caroline Kyungah Hong, PhD Assistant Professor of English Director of Graduate Studies (English MA) Queens College, CUNY 65-30 Kissena Blvd. Klapper Hall 604 Queens, NY 11367-1597 caroline.hong@qc.cuny.edu
