Hi everyone, Sending a reminder that you're all invited to join the Grad Conference Committee (see my previous email below) and come to our first planning meeting this *Wednesday, November 9, at 6:30pm*. If you haven't already, please email me to let us know if you're coming, or if you can't make it but would still like to join the committee. A few other announcements: * Please find attached a flyer for an Education event next Wednesday. * Please also find attached a couple Calls for Papers--one CFP for QC's journal *Revisions* on food and writing, and one for a grad conference at Univ. of Maryland, College Park. * I'm also passing along this announcement re: a tutoring job opportunity: We’re looking to hire some of your students to work not just as tutors but also as mentors to students throughout your community and surrounding cities. We have found that when students (K - 12 & College) are tutored by college students, they become more receptive and enthusiastic about the subject. I think this will be a great opportunity for your students to encourage, engage as well give great advice as to what to expect in college to local youth, ALL while enhancing their resume. Not only will your students tutor/mentor youth throughout your area, but they will receive great benefits as well! ⦁ Great pay- Minimum of $30 per session ⦁ Tutors choose which grade level and subjects to tutor ⦁ Tutors create their own schedule ⦁ Driving compensation ⦁ Periodic bonus and Referral bonus. Dear Graduate Students,
It's that time of year again--time to start planning our annual MA conference, which is scheduled to take place during the spring semester on Thursday, April 27, 2017.
We're looking for volunteers to join this year's Graduate Conference Committee, which organizes the conference. The committee's responsibilities include coming up with a conference theme, writing a call for papers, making decisions on submissions, organizing panels, inviting faculty participation, and promoting the conference. We'll meet about once or twice a month leading up to the conference.
We are planning to hold our first meeting on *Wednesday, November 9, at 6:30pm*. Please email caroline.hong@qc.cuny.edu to let us know if you're coming, or if you can't make it but would still like to join the committee.
And even if you don't volunteer, we hope you'll all submit proposals once the CFP goes out in the spring!
