Dear History majors, The journal History Matters is looking for paper submissions from History students. This is a great opportunity for undergraduate students to be published -- if you are considering a PhD in History, it would be a tremendous addition to your CV. Please see below for more information on the journal and the call for papers. The deadline is January 17, 2017. All best, Prof. Bregoli --- Francesca Bregoli Associate Professor of History Joseph and Oro Halegua Chair in Greek and Sephardic Jewish Studies Queens College, CUNY Acting director, Center for Jewish Studies The Graduate Center, CUNY ---------- Forwarded message ---------- From: History Matters <historymatters@appstate.edu> Date: Thu, Oct 6, 2016 at 3:17 PM Subject: Call for Undergraduate Research Papers To: To whom it may concern: My name is Sarah Patrick, and I am the Editor-in-Chief of History Matters, Appalachian State University's Undergraduate Journal of Historical Research. History Matters offers students who are interested in history the unique opportunity to be published while still completing their undergraduate degrees. Created by a history student who felt that he had no outlet to publish his research, History Matters is dedicated to recognizing top student work in all historic fields and familiarizing students with the publishing process. In our mission to find the best undergraduate research, we accept roughly three percent of the papers that we receive over the course of the fall and winter semesters. We then publish these selected papers in an online journal every May. No paper is published without undergoing a thorough editorial process, which includes the input of distinguished professors from several history departments. Last year, we received over 150 submissions from colleges and universities from four continents. We ask you to inform your students about this opportunity and encourage them to submit their research to the Spring 2017 edition of History Matters. Our deadline for submissions is January 17, 2017. Please feel free to visit our website at historymatters.appstate.edu for more information and to access past issues. We look forward to working with you, your department, and especially your undergraduates. Best regards, Sarah Patrick Editor-in-Chief History Matters Appalachian State University ᐧ
