[History undergraduates] Attention History Majors re: HIST 392W Preregistration

Dear History Majors, Departmental pre-registration for colloquium (392W) courses for the Fall 2019 semester will begin on Monday March 25 and run through Thursday March 28. You must be a history major and a junior or senior to register. All students are required to take a 392W in order to graduate with the major. If you wish to register for these courses, you must do so through the History Department (it is best to come to the department in person). Dear History Majors- As Director of Internships for the History Department, I write this weekend with another wonderful opportunity for history internships. The New York Historical Society has extended its deadline for summer intern applications. The New-York Historical Society is offering full-time, eight week internships in both our museum and library divisions. From modeling creative exhibition layouts to researching with our curators and educators, college and graduate interns experience unparalleled career development and cultivate fruitful professional relationships. Applicants who are selected to participate in this rewarding yet demanding experience will either be paid a stipend of $3000 or receive academic credit, depending on the intern's school requirements. The spring summer internship program will run June through August (unless otherwise specified), and interns may work up to 280 hours throughout the duration of the program. Dear History Students, On March 27, the History Department is sponsoring a one-day symposium, organized by Prof. Wintermute, intended to initiate a Trans-Atlantic dialogue on issues related to the disenfranchised American and British military service veteran. Several local scholars working on veterans issues will be joined by University of Stirling (UK) professor, Isobel Anderson. The subject of her talk will be "Transitions from the Armed Forces to community living - rethinking housing and support pathways in the UK."
