Dear Colleagues, As many of you may know, Tom and I are on an eagerly awaited sabbatical for 2012. We have been tremendously enjoying the opportunity to plunge back into research and spend more time with family members (especially elderly parents and siblings) than has been possible over the last several very busy years, among other activities. We will be traveling to Peru April 11-24th on a vacation we have anticipated for a number of years. We will of course be visiting Machu Picchu and the Sacred Valley, but also Colca Canyon (where we hope to spot condors), Lake Titicaca, Cusco and Lima. Our thanks to the many friends, students and colleagues who have shared tips and experiences with us. It should be a memorable trip. We just wanted to give you all a heads up that although we will have limited Internet access during the trip, we have a pretty busy schedule planned and are not likely to be able to respond to all but the most essential email.
