[Socrates] Chapbook activities for educators at the CUNY Chapbook Festival

Mark your calendars! The 2020 CUNY Chapbook Festival<http://chapfest.qwriting.qc.cuny.edu/> is almost here, and features events of special interest to educators.



On Friday, March 27 at 3:00 PM, we offer a Chapbook Making Workshop for Educators. This workshop is for the writer in you as well as to acquire a DIY skill for your classroom. Whether stapled or stitched together, chapbooks can be an easy way for a writer to see their work in print. This workshop, run by editors from DoubleCross, is open to those who are currently engaged in teaching because you deserve the time and space to figure out how to send your own creative writing out in the world. First come, first serve in the Library's unique Makerspace. Library Makerspace on Level One: 3:00-4:30pm.



To continue the theme of chapbooks for educators, following the workshop there will be a panel "Using Chapbooks in the Classroom," coordinated by the Lost & Found chapbook editors from CUNY's Center for the Humanities. Twomey Lounge on Level One: 4:30-5:30.



Friday's events will close with a poetry reading by N.Y. State Poet Laureate Alicia Ostriker with Birdhouse chapbook winner Kate Bryant. Twomey Lounge: 6:00-7:00
