[Socrates] LGBTQ+ Symposium at York College

Hello all,


Please join Queens Memory and our colleagues at York College this Thursday (11/29) for a full-day symposium: Looking Back on a Generation of LGBTQ Ideas and Issues.


The event's purpose is to bring together faculty, staff, students and neighbors in the greater Queens community to discuss and document LGBTQ+ topics and history. The schedule is as follows:

10:30 am - 12:00 pm Activism panel discussion filmed in 360 video: This panel will give veteran activists and community organizers an opportunity to share their experience in advocacy work with a younger generation who still has a lot of work ahead of them in terms of organizing as well as developing an agenda that others will support.

12:00 pm - 1:30 pm Lunch and keynote address by Pauline Park, chair, New York Association for Gender Rights Advocacy

2:00 pm - 3:30 pm Gender Fluidity & Transgender Rights panel discussion filmed in 360 video: This panel will provide a great dialogue space for different generations of LGBTQ+ people and their allies to exchange ideas about gender fluidity and discuss what the future holds for transgender folks.


The event is free and will be held in the 3H Atrium at York College, Jamaica, NY. Please see attached flyer for more information.
