Hi all,
We're happy to announce that we will be having a GIS day event at the GC. All of the info is below. Please share it with your networks and anyone who you think would be interested in attending. We are also still looking for a few more presenters to talk (for about 8 min) about how they use GIS for their research. We would greatly appreciate it if anyone from this group would be willing to present.

Please let us know.

We hope to see you there!!

GIS Day @ the GC: Sharing social applications of GIS
November 14 from 5pm-7pm
The Graduate Center, Room 7414

The Graduate Center’s GIS Day will be an opportunity to hear how current students and faculty are applying GIS and mapping to help solve social issues. The first hour will be short presentations. The next hour will be an open discussion to help students and faculty brainstorm how they can apply GIS in their research. This will be a casual environment, so please feel free to share your research in any stage that it’s in, and if you aren’t currently using GIS come and get inspired!

If you would like to present your research, please send an email to Olivia Ildefonso at oildefonso at gradcenter.cuny.edu .

Food and drinks will be provided.

This event is hosted by the CUNY Academic Commons GIS/Mapping Working Group. http://cuny.is/group-gis-working-group
