Below, please find a link to the flyer for a special lecture cosponsored by the Division of Education with the Divisions of Social Sciences and Arts and Humanities, as part of the Literature and Human Rights Lecture Series, which is hosted by the Department of Comparative Literature. Our guest is an international scholar and delegate to the United Nations' Committee on the Status of Women (in session this week: http://www.unwomen.org/en/csw/csw61-2017).


Dr Jaya Dantas is director of graduate studies in the Faculty of Health Sciences and professor of international health at Curtin University in Western Australia. She is an internationally recognized expert on public health, education, and health sociology. For 30 years she has been an interdisciplinary researcher and educator in India, Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Timor Leste, and Australia, and she also consults in Pakistan, Kosovo, Sri Lanka, and Singapore.  Her current research focuses on vulnerable populations, especially women and young people. Dr. Dantas serves as a delegate to the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women.
