Subject: Call for Proposals: Breaking Boundaries Symposium: ELO in the 21st Century Classsroom
Importance: High

Dear Colleagues,

Please share with your campus community:

Breaking Boundaries Symposium: Experiential Learning Opportunities in the 21st Century Classroom

CUNY's Experiential Learning Opportunities (ELO) initiative represents an opportunity for us to examine and reflect on the variety of pedagogies of engagement that we employ in experiential education across CUNY and to consider what supports are in place or needed to bring them to scale for quality teaching and learning for all students.

On May 6, 2016 Guttman Community College will hold a CUNY-wide Experiential Learning Symposium, Breaking Boundaries: Experiential Learning Opportunities in the 21st Century Classroom.

The Breaking Boundaries Symposium will bring together CUNY faculty, staff, administrators and community partners whose goals and roles intersect in designing, implementing, and assessing ELOs in New York City.

Jilllian Kinzie, the Associate Director, Indiana University Center for Postsecondary Research, National Survey of Student Engagement Institute and a research associate at the National Institute for Learning Outcomes Assessment will be the featured speaker at this year's plenary. She will discuss the impact of experiential learning on student engagement and success.

We hope you will consider attending, bringing a team from your campus, and perhaps presenting and sharing some of your experiential learning "best practices."
