Below is information about a possibly very useful resource:  a year-long subscription to the NYTimes available to the CUNY student/faculty/staff community.  Registering requires using a valid QC email address.  If your QC email address is already associated with the NYTimes website, that works too.  More information is below (I can't explain the random omission of spaces between words), or here:

The Office of Library Services is happy to announce that the New York Times Academic Pass is now available to all CUNY students, faculty and staff. The Academic Pass gives anybody with a cuny.edu email domain a yearlong subscription to the New York Times Digital (and of course, we plan to renew this relationship for many years to come). Essentially, it works like any subscription to the New York Times Digital except it does not include the tablet app (it does include apps for mobile phones) and limits the number of downloadable articles from the New York Times archive.  
 
The newly created CUNY library marketing committee has begun exploring ways to promote this exciting new resource. In the meantime, please see the User Guide below and talk to your library for further information.

1.   Clickon"Register" tocreatea NYTimes.comaccount usingyour schoolemailaddress.
2.   At thebottomof theWelcomepage,click "Continue."
3.   If your email addressis froman eligible school,you will then see"Check youremail." Lookfor ourmessage,ConfirmYourEmailAddress,which shouldarrive within15minutes.
4.   Clickonthelinkin our confirmationemail.This will simultaneouslyverifyyoureligibilityand
grantyour AcademicPass,which will provideaccesstoNYTimes.comforyour campus designatedperiod.

 
5.   If you don'tgetour confirmationemail,check your spamfilter.  If youstill do notreceiveit,send an emailfrom your schoolemailaccountto edu at nytimes.com
 
IMPORTANT:

Once youhavefollowed thestepsforfirst-timeusersandactivatedan AcademicPass provided by your school,it shouldallow youfull accessfor52weeks (364days)with no further actiononyour part.
