Advance announcement for Socrates subscribers:

The Adjunct Colloquium Series will have its first event this year on Tuesday, October 1.

Ken Ryesky, an Adjunct in the Department of Accounting & Information Systems, will discuss how the Patient Protection & Affordable Care Act impacts and concerns Adjunct faculty.

Ken Ryesky formerly served as an attorney for the Internal Revenue Service. Last April, he testified at an IRS rulemaking hearing on the implementation of certain provisions of the Affordable Care Act. ACA is already beginning to have a profound effect upon the health care coverage of all Americans. The law's provisions have particular implications for Adjunct faculty members at America's colleges and universities, and those implications extend far beyond health care coverage.

Light lunch will be served.
