[Socrates] Workshop on teaching large classes

From the Center for Teaching and Learning:
The workshop will be held on May 22, 2013 from noon till 2 pm in the Faculty Development Lab Razran 360.

Are you teaching a class with more than 40 students? Queens College is offering an increasing number of large classes with some classes exceeding 200 students. Teaching these large numbers of students presents a challenging and exciting set of issues.
We are offering a workshop that will look at some of these issues and provide some practical solutions that you can start applying in your classroom. In addition, we will provide tips on class administration and have a participant-directed discussion of issues that will also serve as the basis of future workshops. The workshop will be run by Dr. Holtzman from the Department of Biology. She regularly teaches classes of over 150 students.


Light refreshments will be served.
