Sent on behalf of Grace Davie:

Dear Colleagues,

You are invited to attend the second faculty luncheon on experiential
education. At the first lunch, faculty volunteered to be students
assigned to role play a lobbying visit. We also did cell biology,
with play-doh!.

For our next lunch, we are thrilled to have Katherine Profeta (Drama)
explain how she challenges students to stage a familiar dramatic scene
using Brechtian concepts as opposed to psychological realism.

Premilla Nadasen (History) will lead us through a unique pedagogy she
has developed that help students to rethink standard narratives of the
Civil Rights Movement using primary documents.

Event: Experiential Learning luncheon
Date: Monday March 18, 2013
Time: 12:15 - 1:30 pm
Location: NEW: President's Conference Room #1, Rosenthal Library

Please help us plan the refreshments by completing this RSVP:

This luncheon is being sponsored by the Center for Teaching and
Learning at the request of a group of faculty who gathered over the
summer in 2012 to discuss simulations, internship courses, and civic
engagement.

We would now like to bring more faculty into this ongoing conversation
about experiential learning at Queens College. The format of this
lunch will allow ample time for discussion and peer-to-peer feedback.

Send Questions to grace.davie at qc.cuny.edu

Hope to see you there!

Best wishes,
Grace
