[UrbanStudiesCircular] March with the Queens College community at Friday's climate strike!
The Climate Strike is happening this Friday, September 20thin Downtown Manhattan! Join fellow New Yorkers as we protest government and corporate inaction on climate change. Between hurricanes and heat waves, New York City is already experiencing the effects of our changing climate. Without reducing GHG emissions and ending our dependence on fossil fuels, our city will become even more vulnerable to surging seas and rising temperatures. Professor Natalie Bump Vena of the Urban Studies Department will be meeting members of the Queens College community at Collect Pond Park<https://g.page/collect-pond-park?share>just across from the New York City Civil Court at 12:30 pm on Friday. From there, we will walk to Foley Square to begin our march to Battery Park. The rally will take place from 3 pm to 5 pm in Battery Park. Professor Vena will be holding a "Queens College for Climate Justice" sign. Please email her at natalie.vena@qc.cuny.edu<mailto:natalie.vena@qc.cuny.edu>if you plan to join on Friday!?
