Is this happening in the case of Cuba, particularly in light of the recent changes in American diplomatic relations with the Castro government? Sociologist Vincent Bloch from the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales in Paris addresses these questions by discussing the different waves of the Cuban exodus, its destinations, integration into receiving societies, and interaction with the homeland.
