Prof. Brian Rosa INTERNSHIPS AT THE LEAGUE: URBAN OMNIBUS PROJECT ASSISTANT The Architectural League of New York offers seasonal internships with a minimum 3- month time commitment to qualified undergraduates and recent graduates. We ask that interns work 10-15 hours (2 days) per week and are flexible with their schedule. Selection for the League’s internship program is made on the basis of the applicant’s enthusiasm about the League’s mission and programs, experience, and interest in architecture, design, and/or urbanism. Urban Omnibus is the Architectural League’s online publication dedicated to defining and enriching the culture of citymaking. We explore projects and perspectives in urbanism, architecture, art, policy, and activism – tried and tested in New York City – that offer new ways of understanding, representing, and improving urban life and landscape worldwide. The Architectural League is looking for a motivated, self-directed, and highly organized intern to serve as Project Assistant for Urban Omnibus, beginning in September 2017. You will work closely with Urban Omnibus editors on all aspects of the publication, and be an integral part of a small, highly collaborative non-profit organization. You’ll be exposed to contemporary concerns in architecture and urbanism and gain experience in the publication of a weekly online magazine. Responsibilities will include: * Editorial support, including image research, fact-checking, proofreading, and layout * Research and development of new features, special series, and editorial projects * General support for the programs of the Architectural League You should have strong writing and editorial skills, and a demonstrable interest in architecture, urbanism, design, and the built environment. Experience in graphic design, mapping, or audio/video production are a plus. Compensation: Interns will receive a stipend of $15 an hour and unlimited monthly MetroCards for the duration of the internship. The League will also support internships for academic credit.
