Most troublingly, Donald Trump has pledge to revoke the executive orders that allow for undocumented youth to receive financial aid and go to school here, through the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA). CUNY has a huge number of students who benefit from DACA, and in the past week, many of them have expressed their anxieties and fears that they may be deported once Trump takes office. A number of universities across the US have drafted petitions to their presidents and provosts calling for their campus to be designated as a sanctuary campus, which would offer protections against ICE for students and their families who might face deportation. We have decided to draft our own petition calling upon Chancellor Milliken to make all of CUNY's campuses sanctuaries for undocumented and immigrant students, and I implore all of you to sign it.
