To support these efforts, the NYCEDC has created a new position, the Assistant Vice President of Business Development. This is an exciting opportunity for an entrepreneurially-minded and highly collaborative individual to support the Partnerships team-NYCEDC’s newest department. The group develops and manages EDC’s corporate and industry relationships and identifies strategic opportunities for collaboration on new or existing economic development initiatives. *Your Role: *The Marketing and Communications intern will help build out Partnerships’ capacity and infrastructure to effectively communicate about EDC’s mission and vast portfolio of projects to stakeholders engaged in partnership and business development efforts. The intern will prepare communications content, marketing materials and assist in events as needed. This position is ideal for a college student or recent graduate who is highly motivated by converting ideas and content into high-impact materials. *Responsibilities:* - Support the execution of internal and external client communication initiatives - Support the development of narratives and messaging about EDC projects to support partnership and business development efforts - Create PowerPoint presentations and other marketing materials to support the goals of the Partnerships Team - Organize and maintain marketing files, network drives and communications assets - Assist with managing the newly launched CRM system - *S*upport data analytics and reporting on business outreach - Maintain calendar of industry events to advance strategic outreach efforts in a range of industries, such as Creative & Applied Technology, Healthcare & Life Sciences, Smart & Sustainable Cities and Real Estate & Finance - Assist with the promotion, including strategy and execution, of EDC business development efforts, as needed - Other duties as assigned *Qualifications:* - Recent graduate or pursuing a Bachelors in Marketing, Communications or related field - Demonstrated success in project management. - Creative thinker, with strong planning, organization and execution skills - Intellectually curious and takes initiative to tackle projects - Proficiency in software programs such as Microsoft Office, Photoshop, Wrike and Microsoft Dynamics - Resourceful, self-motivated, efficient and detail oriented. - Availability for up to 28 hours per week, across 4 days per week (with flexibility) - Excellent written and verbal communication skills - Ability to handle multiple tasks and requests in a timely manner *About NYCEDC: *New York City Economic Development Corporation is the City’s primary vehicle for promoting economic growth in each of the five boroughs.
