[UrbanStudiesCircular] Internship Opportunity in Health Services Advocacy
Internship Opportunity in Health Services Advocacy The New York Metro area chapter of Physicians for a National Health Program (PNHP) has been working with a coalition of groups that advocate for a single payer health insurance system (Medicare For All) for New York State. See https:// www.nyhcampaign.org/learn<http://www.nyhcampaign.org/learn>. The New York Health Act has been passed several times by the New York State Assembly, but not by the State Senate. PNHP is offering a placement for 1 or 2 interns to do research on the impact of the law on employers, unions and workers, including transition planning for workers, and on the best "framing" for the legislation in the State Senate. The time commitment is for 7-8 hours per week for the fall semester. This is an excellent opportunity to learn about and participate in the process of advocacy in US health care policy. Please contact Professor Alice Sardell at alice.sardell@qc.cuny.edu<mailto:alice.sardell@qc.cuny.edu>to apply.
