[UrbanStudiesCircular] Ballot and Issue Information for New York City Voters--Election is this Tuesday, November 6th!
Ballot and Issue Information for New York City Voters! You can find out what specifically will appear on your ballot by typing your address into the search engine at Ballotpedia <https://ballotpedia.org/>. You'll see that there are three ballot measures in which you can help decide how to revise the New York City Charter (essentially New York City's constitution). For more information on these three measures about community engagement, campaign finance, and community boards, please go here: https://www.nyccfb.info/nyc-votes/vgwelcome/state-general-2018/ballot-propos... https://www.nyccfb.info/nyc-votes/vgwelcome/state-general-2018/ballot-propos... https://www.nyccfb.info/nyc-votes/vgwelcome/state-general-2018/ballot-propos... On your ballot, you will also see candidates for the New York State Senate, the New York General Assembly, the U.S. House of Representatives, the U.S. Senate, New York Governor, New York Attorney General, and New York Comptroller. Please read up on the individual candidates in your community. Finally, in New York State, some judges are appointed but others are elected. There will be many judges on your ballot. The New York City Bar Association has made a helpful list giving judges a rating of "Approved" or "Not Approved." The NYCBA has approved most of the judicial candidates, but not all, and you can print out this list of their grades and take it with you into your polling place. https://www.nycbar.org/media-listing/media/detail/new-york-city-bar-associat...
