Please join us for the Eighth Annual Robert Fitch Memorial Lecture featuring: Dr. Tarry Hum on "Chinese Transnational Capital and City Building in Immigrant New York" Sponsored by the Social Science Department, LaGuardia Community College Monday, October 28, 2019 2:15PM, in the Little Theater at LaGuardia Community College, CUNY Reception to Follow Introduced by Doug Henwood Tarry Hum is Professor and Chair of Queens College's Department of Urban Studies. Her research areas include immigrant urbanism, transnational capital and real estate financialization, urban planning and community economic development. She is the author of making a Global Immigrant Neighborhood: Brooklyn's Sunset Park. Robert Fitch taught in the Social Science department at LaGuardia Community College
From 1993 to 2011. He is best known for his books The Assassination of New York and Solidarity for Sale: How Corruption Destroyed the Labor Movement and Undermined America's Promise. This lecture is being delivered in his memory.
