Dear Colleagues, We are pleased to announce the official launch of the website and registration of Queens College's Conference: Race, Identity, & Liberation: Transforming K-12 Public Education & the Academy for the Greater Good https://race-identity-liberation.carrd.co/ The Queens College Urban Studies Department has funds to support the first five students who sign up for the conference. We are thrilled to have 6 phenomenal Keynote and Guest Speakers at the conference: · Dr. Jack Tchen, University of Rutgers at Newark and New York University · Dr. Yolanda Sealy-Ruiz, Teachers College, Columbia University · Mr. Jose Antonio Vargas, Pulitzer Award Winning Journalist, Emmy Nominated Film maker, and Founder of Define American · Mr. Jin Park, Harvard University DACA graduate, Queens resident, and first DACA Rhodes Scholar in the history of the United States and Rhodes Scholarship Program · Dr. Cheryl Matias, University of Colorado, Denver, Author of "Feeling White". · Dr. Nolan Cabrera, University of Arizona, Author of "White Guys on Campus". Please share this special event with your professional networks, school leaders, teachers, students, and friends. Early registration tickets are $40 from February 8, 2019 - March 1, 2019. After March 1st, all tickets will be $55. Ticket sales will end on Friday, March 8th. For Queens College faculty, students, and staff only: Please use the Eventbrite link below to register. This invitation is password protected. The password is qccommunity (all lowercase). This link is only for Queens College faculty and staff who would like to attend and to invite their students. Everyone who is interested in attending the conference need to register via Eventbrite. We request that in order to register for the conference, to please use your laptop or computer to do so. Registration links do not work well on smartphones. Guests will not be allowed inside to any of the Keynotes Lectures or Dialogue Sessions without full registration through the Eventbrite system. Due to limited number of tickets available, we strongly suggest that our Queens College community register by Friday, February 15, 2019 by 10AM.
