Dear All, The Urban Studies Department is pleased to announce our annual Hagedorn Award competition for First Generation College Students!! ********Deadline: April 23rd, 2018, by 5 p.m.******** These awards of $1,500 are available to Urban and Environmental Studies Majors who are among the first generation in their family to attend a four-year college in the United States. Students whose parents attended college in a country other than the United States ARE eligible for this award. Students must have junior standing or higher and must have already declared an Urban or Environmental Studies major. Students may apply for the Hagedorn Award multiple times, but can only receive it once. Therefore, if you apply one year and are rejected, you may continue to apply in subsequent years. This is a competitive application given to only two students per year. Please craft your essays accordingly.
