He joined the State Senate in a "game-changing" election in 2018. From 2010-2013 he was the New York City Comptroller and also served as a member of the New York City Council from 2002 to 2009, the first Asian-American to ever serve on the Council. He is uniquely qualified to discuss how this "New" State Senate has changed and may continue to change a wide range of public policies in New York City and State.?
