The purpose of each workshop is three-fold: (1) to provide a free demonstration of Visionmaker's features in a resilience context, (2) to provide for you an opportunity to share your ideas and visions of resilience for the Jamaica Bay watershed, and (3) to hear from you how you think Visionmaker can be used with a neighborhood, professional community or other group to enhance the resilience of Jamaica Bay. This NYC Parks effort aims to restore 3 to 5 acres of salt marsh and 7 to 9 acres of coastal upland. We re-created their design in Visionmaker.nyc and found out that this effort would decrease stormwater runoff into the bay from a high of 134,196 gallons/day (present) down to 25,954 (after restoration)!
