Dear TIME 2000 Students,

Please see below for info regarding a paid summer position teaching mathematics.  Jevaughn wrote about his experience at BEAM in our November newsletter.  They have hired several TIME 2000 students over the years and every student enjoyed the experience.  Be sure to mention that you are a TIME 2000 student in your application or cover letter if you apply!

Good luck!

Subject: Opportunities with BEAM

Hi, Naomi --

I hope this finds  you well! My name is Emily and I work at BEAM as the HR Manager. I'm reaching out to you today to share some upcoming opportunities with BEAM that we're hoping you're able to share with folks associated with the TIME 2000 program.

Position with BEAM Summer Programs:

  • Counselor/TA
    • Great summer opportunity for college students to lead BEAM students in building a community of math-lovers and support interactive and engaging math classes for rising 7th or 8th graders
  • Faculty
    • Faculty are typically math professors or middle/high school math teachers that are excited about math enrichment and want to create and teach courses that are not like your typical middle school math class

Opportunities with BEAM's NY Programs:

  • We have openings for Saturday Instructors (and substitutes!) in NY. Saturday Instructors teach fun and interesting math enrichment classes during the school year to BEAM's 8th graders. For more information, please reach out to Kelly Miraglia at kelly@beammath.org.
  • BEAM NY Programs is looking for partner schools in Brooklyn, Queens, and downtown Manhattan! If you know a teacher or staff member at a middle school serving low-income and historically marginalized communities, please reach out to Ruthi Hortsch at ruthi@beammath.org to put her in touch with them

Thank you in advance for your support in helping us get the word out! If there's any additional information I can provide, please let me know and I would be happy to help!

Warmly,

Emily
