Hi everyone, We hope you are doing well! As most of you know TIME 2000 runs a club called "Today's Tutors, Tomorrow's Math Teachers" (MT4). MT4 provides TIME students with the opportunity to earn experience in teaching that we can then apply to our studies and future teaching positions both in terms of helping students and talking to parents. The MT4 tutoring club will be holding elections for new officers. There are 5 positions that need to be filled: President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Public Relations/Event Planner. The president will make sure that everything is running smoothly and efficiently, this job is also shared by the vice president and the secretary. The treasurer will keep track of how much money the club has raised during the fundraisers you will hold. The public relations/event planner officer will be in charge of social media and planning club events, such as game night. As for the jobs that are shared, you will all be in charge of contacting parents, updating a spreadsheet with parents who are looking for a tutor, and sending out weekly emails with jobs to tutors. The person who oversees the sheet will change on a weekly basis. Schools are always looking for teachers who take initiative and are involved in school activities and clubs. QC students have been awarded this AMTNYS (Association of Mathematics Teachers of New York State) scholarship in the past so we definitely encourage you to apply!!! The Association of Mathematics Teachers of New York State (AMTNYS) announces that applications are now available for its four $2,000 Scholarships These awards are presented to outstanding Undergraduates who are enrolled in a Teacher Education Program in New York State and who have completed at least 18 credit hours of Mathematics. The cumulative G.P.A. must be at least 3.25. Applicants may be in their Senior year. Awards are based on a committee evaluation of each student's achievement throughout their academic program, as well as their involvement with and contributions to their school and the mathematics community.
