Subject: Undergraduates: announcing the ROOT Program — applications due April 30
Dear MoMath enthusiast,
This summer, MoMath is excited to welcome a cohort of participants to the ROOT (Real Operational Outreach Training) Program. Are you an undergraduate math major (or STEM major) looking to spend a fun summer in New York City while honing your communication
and outreach skills and gaining workplace experience? As a MoMath ROOT participant, you'll join a dynamic group of emerging young STEM professionals working at the nation's premier museum of mathematics to change public perceptions of the field.
A total of eight students from around the country will be accepted for this highly selective summer opportunity to work at MoMath, where they will: serve as docents in the Museum; build outreach and communication skills; enhance their mathematical knowledge;
meet mathematicians from around the world; gain exposure to a variety of interesting programs, lectures, and people; and be part of a motivated and talented cohort.
Applications will be accepted and evaluated on a rolling basis. The application deadline is April 30, 2022, but the application window may close prior to that time if the program fills.
Please note that MoMath requires all staff to be fully vaccinated and boosted.
