First, use this template to build an octahedral valentine<https://momath.org/wp-content/plugins/civicrm/civicrm/extern/url.php?u=681&qid=16488073>! Print two copies on stiff paper, decorate them, and cut each out in a single piece. Fold the flaps and the places where the hearts meet, and use glue or double-sided tape to connect the two halves - and here's what you'll get<https://momath.org/wp-content/uploads/2019/02/FinishedValentine.png>! Thanks to mathematician Ethan Bolker for providing this mathematical holiday craft. And here's another valentine: Start with this heart<https://momath.org/wp-content/plugins/civicrm/civicrm/extern/url.php?u=682&qid=16488073>, and then, just like you can with MoMath's Formula Morph exhibit, move the sliders to manipulate the shape and explore all the three-dimensional surfaces you can create. Thanks to our friends from IMAGINARY for providing this engaging interactive. The MoMath team wishes you a wonderful Valentine's Day!
