[Time2000_t20 0196] Junior Journals
Dear TIME 2000 Juniors, I hope you and your family members are well and staying healthy. Dr. Artzt and I cannot wait until we can all return to campus. Placements for student teaching will be delayed until we know how and when schools will resume. I will be in touch with a Google Form survey as soon as possible. It is important that we keep in touch and write journals to remember what our thoughts and feelings were at this historic time. This journal assignment is for you, the juniors, who are in a very different situation than the other undergraduates. Please email both Dr. Artzt and me your honest reflections. Although we are going to have junior group meetings on Tuesday, April 14, there are personal things you may not want to share in a group. Remember to join the TIME 2000 Classroom page as per the previous email. On Tuesday, Click on this revised link to the meeting at your meeting time: https://meet.google.com/lookup/bphkqr5glu You will be able to see everyone and have the option to speak or to text via the chat box or just hang out and listen. Journal Assignment: The Spring 2020 semester is unlike any we have experienced before! We are interested in getting your feedback on several issues and, more importantly, knowing how you are doing. Please respond to the following in as detailed and honest a manner as possible. 1. What is your name? How are you and your family? How is life at home? Are you or your relatives essential workers who are still reporting to work outside of the home? Let us know how you feel. 2. How are you coping with the covid crisis? How are you handling the changes in your life caused by the coronavirus pandemic? What challenges are you facing? What are your successes? 3. Describe your experiences this semester thus far. Include a BRIEF description of the courses you are taking and your feelings about those courses (both TIME 2000 and non-TIME 2000 courses). How are you handling the transition to remote learning? 4. Describe any other thoughts and feelings you would like to share about the TIME 2000 program that you did not mention above. What things would you like us to be sure to do in future semesters? Please let us know any questions you may have. 5. Describe any other thoughts and feelings you would like to share about yourself that you did not mention above. What is going on in your life right now that you'd like us to know about? Remember that CUNY has a webpage with great resources including tips and resources for reducing stress as well as mental health links: https://www.cuny.edu/cuny-continuity/cuny-continuity-for-students/ I am looking forward to seeing you tomorrow! Be safe and stay well!
