Dear TIME 2000 Friends and Family, Happy new year! I hope you are safe and warm during the snow storm. The Manhattan chapter of MATHCOUNTS is in need of volunteers on Feb. 3. Some of you may have participated in MATHCOUNTS competitions during middle school. MATHCOUNTS promotes enthusiasm for and achievement in math among middle school students. The Manhattan chapter is run by niece Eve. volunteers are needed to grade the morning exams and are then invited to stay for the keynote speaker and the very exciting lightning round competition. Most volunteers will be needed to help grade the contests from around 9:15am until noon. Breakfast, lunch, and a t-shirt will be provided. Some volunteers are also needed to help set up the afternoon/early evening beforehand (Friday, Feb 2nd), and to assist as the students are arriving on Saturday starting at 7:30am.
