Dear Future Math Methods Students,
I continue to hope that you are all well. Another school is now available to add to your choice list for student teaching placement. The school is H. Frank Carey in the Sewanhaka School District. The placement
is with a math special ed teacher so this would be a good placement if you are considering getting certified in special ed at a later time or if you just want to learn more about differentiated instruction. However, the teacher’s schedule for next school
year is not yet known so I do not know if this will be a middle school or high school placement. Given this situation, the placement is currently open to all methods students and as soon as the teacher has her schedule for next year, I will be able to place
the appropriate candidate.
If you would like to add this school to your request list, please reply to this email with your name and what choice number (#1-5) the school should be on your list.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Weinman

Subject: Student Teaching Placement Info
Dear Future Math Methods Students,
I hope you and your families are well and able to stay safe. Given the many disruptions caused by the coronavirus, you may be wondering about your student teaching placements for next year. Instructions follow
below but are a little different this year. In the past, schools were surveyed first, committed to student teacher placements, and then included on the list of choices for you. This year, you are being surveyed before the schools are asked to take student
teachers because the schools are overwhelmed with changes right now and because they do not yet know what next school year will bring. After I receive your placement requests, I will reach out to the schools. The list of schools is based on the schools that
agreed to host student teachers for the current semester.
This coming fall semester, you will complete your observations for the methods course at the schools where you will student teach during the spring semester. I will arrange your placements based on your answers
to the questionnaire found at Student Teaching Placement Form for Spr2021. Please complete the
questionnaire by April 28, 2020, to avoid delay in your placement. Replies submitted after that date will be processed in the order they are received.
NOTE: Observations for the Methods course are separate from and, most likely, at a different school than the observations you will do for ICE.
You will receive your placement information after the start of the fall semester. I will be in contact between now and then if more information is needed from you
or if other schools become available; please be sure to check your email and reply in a timely manner.
Please let me know if you have any questions. Information about the schools listed on the form can best be found on the schools’ websites.
I look forward to receiving your completed forms on time.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Weinman
