[Time2000_t18 0179] LIMACON registration instructions
Dear TIME 2000 Students, As the upperclassmen know, all members of TIME 2000 attend LIMAÇON, the Long Island Mathematics Conference, at SUNY, Old Westbury. This is a conference for teachers but they allow you, as pre-service teachers, to attend. This year's conference will be held on Friday, March 16, 2017. A bus will be provided from QC (7:15am) to the conference and then back to QC at the end of the event (leaving Old Westbury at 2:45pm). If you wish to take this bus, please sign up for it at the February seminar This year, the only way to register for LIMAÇON is online. The program for LIMAÇON and the registration form can be found at http://www.limathconference.org<http://www.limathconference.org/> . Please review the program brochure, select your top 3 choices for each session from pages 2 and 3, and then complete the online registration form by January 15 if you would like TIME 2000 to pay your registration fee. The workshop grade levels range from kindergarten through college and are indicated next to the workshop titles and presenters. Choose workshops that are appropriate for secondary school teachers, grade levels 7-12. Read the descriptions and choose the workshops that are of the most interest to you. While it is tempting to attend a workshop taught by people you know such as Dr. Sultan, one of your high school teachers, or TIME 2000 alumni, you should take the opportunity to meet and learn from people you don't know. On the registration form, select Full-time Student; School Purchase Order (as method of payment); Purchase Order number 2000. Do not enter credit card information or pay your own fee. After you register, you will receive an email from LIMAÇON confirming your registration. Forward that email to Lori, Loriann.Maugeri@qc.cuny.edu<mailto:Loriann.Maugeri@qc.cuny.edu>, so that we pay your registration fee. Lori must receive your email confirmation by January 15. It is mandatory for all TIME 2000 students to attend LIMAÇON. If you will have a class on Fridays, speak with the professor about missing the class. If you work during the conference hours, please make arrangements at your place of employment to change your hours that day. If you have another type of conflict, please speak (or email) with Dr. Artzt about it as soon as possible. Let me know if you have any questions. Sincerely, Naomi Weinman SEYS/TIME 2000 Queens College, CUNY 65-30 Kissena Boulevard Queens, NY 11367-1597 Office: 718-997-5377 Fax: 718-997-5173
