,

I would like to take the opportunity to introduce myself; my name is Sheldon Minnus, I work for a non-profit that provides academic programming and enrichment to almost 20,000 across New York City, and Weschester County. I am also a Queens College alumni who thoroughly enjoyed my experiences during my time there. I actually had dropped by the school briefly yesterday and spoke with your colleague Mr. Michael Livathinopoulos who mentioned that you would be the person to talk to.

I am reaching out to you in hopes of being able to provide current Queens College students with a great opportunity to be a part of a paid internship tutoring students at Flushing High School. In collaboration with Flushing High School (which is very close in proximity to Queens College), we are providing a 12 week Regents Exam/Test Preparation program. Tutors will be providing small group size and individualized tutoring in subject based areas: Math, Science, History and ELA. Tutoring will take place Monday through Thursday during our after school program hours from 3:30 PM - 6:00 PM.

We are looking for strong and passionate individuals who would like to dedicate themselves to the betterment of under served high school students who will help to ensure that we are able to improve students' academic achievement and to help fulfill graduation requirements.

As a Queens College Alumni I would love to extend this opportunity to Queens College students. If you would like to meet further to discuss, I would be more than happy to come back out to Queens College. If you know of anyone that you feel would be a great fit for this opportunity than please pass the information along and I would love to meet with them as well.

Any questions, concerns or comments please reach out, and I look forward to hearing back from you in the near future!

Sincerely,

Sheldon M. Minnus
