My dearest math education community,
It is with deep sadness that I report the passing of Dr. Nick Metas. Dr. Metas was a wonderful story teller and always entertained us and his students with tales of the mathematicians he worked
with and the less well known stories of those he didn't, which only an excellent historian would know. He was a devoted teacher who was considered one of the best, and a dedicated faculty member who gave his best right until the end. He was appreciated and
will be missed by all who knew him.

Monday from 6-9 PM
Tuesday from 2PM-5PM and 7PM-9PM
The final Mass for Dr. Metas will take place at:
Saint Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church,
196-10 Northern Boulevard, Flushing (across the street
from the funeral home) on Wednesday at 9:30 AM.
