From Cecilia Britez, Campus Manager, CUNY Service Corps at Queens College:
I would like to ask for your help in inviting students to apply for CUNY Service Corps at Queens College. CUNY Service Corps is a talent pipeline program that recruits, selects, and hires students to serve as ambassadors to CUNY, while also serving their community.
Below is information about the program that I would appreciate if you could share with your students. In addition, I would like to request that you kindly allow us five minutes of your classroom time to present this program to your students. We would be happy
to visit your classroom at any time during the week, just fill out this form with some basic information to help us schedule our visit:
goo.gl/forms/aOd7f2fpoDnrcKBK2.
Service Corps members are matched to one of our 100 community organization partners to work 12 hours per week, for 24 weeks at $15 per hour. Our students also receive 13 hours of pre-service training, plus monthly professional and personal development workshops.
Our admission criteria are highly competitive: a 2.5 and above GPA, full time class load, undergraduate or graduate, and with two full semesters left in college before graduation. We offer a flexible work schedule, and have internships in the areas of health,
environment, education, and business and economics.
CUNY Service Corps at QC: Your students would appreciate the opportunity to serve their city, gain professional experience, and make $15 per hour!
The application deadline for CUNY Service Corps is March 11. Students may apply online at
www.qc.cuny.edu/servicecorps.
Thank you for presenting this opportunity to your students.
