Dear TIME 2000 Students, As the upperclassmen know, all members of TIME 2000 attend LIMAÇON, the Long Island Mathematics Conference, at SUNY, Old Westbury. This year's conference will be held on Friday, March 11, 2016. A bus will be provided from the QC main gate (7:15am) to the conference and then back to QC at the end of the event (leaving Old Westbury at 2:45pm). If you wish to take this bus, please sign up for it at the seminar on December 1, 2015. This year, the only way to register for LIMAÇON is online. The program for LIMAÇON and the registration form can be found at http://www.limathconference.org<http://www.limathconference.org/> . Please review the program, select your top 3 choices for each session, and then complete the online registration form by December 15 if you would like TIME 2000 to pay your registration fee. The workshop grade levels range from kindergarten through college and are indicated next to the workshop titles and presenters. Choose workshops that are appropriate for secondary school teachers, grade levels 7-12. On the registration form, select Full-time Student; School Purchase Order (as method of payment); Purchase Order number 0000. Do not enter credit card information or pay your own fee. After you register, you will receive an email from LIMAÇON confirming your registration. Forward that email to Ruth, qcruthg(a)aol.com<mailto:qcruthg@aol.com>, so that we pay your registration fee. It is mandatory for all TIME 2000 students to attend LIMAÇON. If you will have a class on Fridays, speak with the professor about missing the class. If you work during the conference hours, please make arrangements at your place of employment to change your hours that day. I'm not sure if you post these kinds of openings, but I was just contacted by my former employer because they're looking for tutors. In addition to being a solid resume builder, I found it to be a fantastic way to get exposure. Tutors work with students of all ages (k-college) and get an opportunity to familiarize themselves with and review a lot of things they probably haven't seen in a long time. I personally found it to be a HUGE help while taking math 385. The tutoring center is located in Lynbrook, Long Island is open Monday-Thursday and Saturday.
