Dear TIME 2000 Students,

As per the seminar agenda sent last week, the ALST is no longer required for certification.  See below for the official announcement.

Please remember that journal assignments are due tomorrow.  Please also email me if you would like to present something you learned at LIMACON.

Happy Spring!

Re:       Elimination of ALST for NYS Teacher Certification

The Board of Regents voted to eliminate the ALST (Academic Literacy Skills Test) as part of the teacher certification requirements on March 13, 2017.

Effective March 14, 2017, teacher certification candidates are no longer required to take or pass the ALST. The New York State Office of Teaching Initiatives has already updated the teacher certification website and will exempt the ALST in TEACH.

Please share this information with your colleagues, staff, certification track students, and degree candidates.

The Office of Teacher Certification will be updating the website and share additional information as it becomes available.
