Dear Mathematics Educator, Do you have students who excel at math and enjoy helping people learn? We need your help to inform such students about TIME 2000 (Teaching Improvements through Mathematics Education), a unique secondary mathematics teacher-preparation program at Queens College that offers students scholarships toward the cost of tuition. In TIME 2000, students have the opportunity to pursue a combined major in mathematics and secondary education. Upon graduation and completion of New York State examinations, they become fully qualified to teach mathematics in grades 7 through 12. Students in the program become part of a close-knit learning community in which they take their math and education courses together, engage in study groups, and attend seminars, conferences, and events. They also benefit from the close guidance and support of faculty who teach in the program. We encourage you to share information about this program with students who have an interest in math and teaching. Please let your seniors who enjoy math and are enrolled in pre-calculus, calculus (regular, honors, or AP), or AP Statistics know that TIME 2000 is a good option for them.
