Fernández Assistant Vice Provost Queens College, City University of New York http://people.qc.cuny.edu/faculty/efernandez From: John.Collins@qc.cuny.edu [mailto:John.Collins@qc.cuny.edu] Subject: We're 1/2 Way through "Flip Side of the Favela Film Experience" - special event Monday, Free hr Hello All, Please see attached poster for some amazing, difficult to see in the US, films about or set within Brazilian favelas. We'll be showing them in Campbell Dome during Free Hr. this Monday and Wednesday. Best of all, Monday's shorts come from "Morrinho TV," or the audiovisual arm of the favela arts cooperative from Rio now on campus building a model favela/diorama/'social sculpture' in the spaces between the Science Building and the Library. Some of the films are quite hilarious. Others are biting social commentary. Many are quite impressive aesthetically. Most are all of the above! abracos, John ----------------------------------------------------------------------- This communication (including any attachments) is intended solely for the recipient(s) named above and may contain information that is confidential, privileged or legally protected.
