Technology Development Lab Class - Fall 2018
Media Studies Department is offering the Technology Development Lab Class again in the Fall of 2018! In this studio course, social justice apptivist Jason Van Anden will help participants bring their own technology concepts from the idea stage to full proposals and prototypes. This workshop will teach tech startup methodologies typically geared to profit, and apply them towards social good. This course will include guest industry experts who will help students explore precedents and influences, collaboration and partnerships, choose platforms, develop user scenarios, determine market fit, design wireframes, evaluate social, economic, and environmental impact, prepare and rehearse proposals, build prototypes, and then participate in a live pitch before a panel of funders and technologists. Up to three projects will be invited to participate as members of QC's new Technology Incubator. Open to the entire college community: all majors, undergraduates, graduates, and faculty. Class size is limited to 15. Participation in this course is by instructor permission only.
