All the best, Larissa Swedell District 9 (2009) Thursday, October 16 4:45 pm Godwin-Ternbach Museum (Klapper Hall) District 9 (2009), written and directed by Neill Blomkamp and produced by Peter Jackson, was inspired by the apartheid era evictions of non-white people from District 6 in Cape Town.  Shot in Soweto in mock documentary format, District 9 is a science fiction thriller with underlying themes of xenophobia, social segregation, and humanity.
